Just curious, but how many people are actually following the “Singapore” team during the Olympics? I couldn’t be arsed seeing as how all our medal hopes are actually residing on the China Team 2.
Flag dragging controversy aside, I believe this is a relevant question that we should be asking. Given our population of 4 million, why can’t we produce winners ourselves instead of importing them? And even if they do win a medal, would they be proud to be Singaporeans or would they be more proud to be where they were from?
I find it extremely ironic to see Li Jiawei’s mug plastered all over our bustops with big signs saying Support Team Singapore, and knowing where she’s actually from. Why couldn’t they have used a real Singaporean?
To be fair, they probably have lots of pressure on them, if they fail, they won’t have any fallback excuse and may lose their benefits, but hey they already got their citizenship so it doesn’t really matter yeah?
Was at the bus stop (duh) waiting for the bus to work when the bus that just came into the bay broke down.
It had been stalling there for quite a bit when i spotted this teenager runing up happily to the bus, thinking that it was waiting for her.
After about thirty seconds of futile hand gestures later, she gave up and went behind to wait for the next. The bus driver soon gave up and told everyone on board to get down too.
What I don’t understand is the sillyness of the girl. Anyone with half a brain would have realized that the bus had broke down and wasn’t just waiting for her.
Ah well.
Snigger.
Sent from my iPhone. Edited later (due to iPhone typos..grrr)
Don’t really venture too much into the local blogosphere, but this one has me fuming. There’s really no excuse for plagiarizing, especially when you’re getting paid to write online on Stomp’s StarBlog. Not only is it not ethical, it’s also cheating and lying where most people are concerned.
Plagiarism is intolerable. Especially so in this case. Hell, if you look through the evidence, you’ll see that she’s been plagiarizing for ages and ages. Don’t let her get away with this. This is wrong. I don’t care about the whole “feud” but this plagiarizing is a crime to writers everywhere. There’s a line between paraphrasing and plagiarizing….and it’s obvious this line has been crossed.
It’s been a busy month of June, hence the terrible lack of updates from me. However, I do see my workload settling down to something more manageable, so I’m mostly back in action. Today, we have a lovely video showcasing a biatch fight on the MRT. Take a look.
Now while the lady obviously has a case, does anyone feel that she’s over-reacting? And shouting like that, while there are kids around, isn’t very considerate. What’s worse was that she wasn’t behaving any better than the woman she was trying to berate.
Idiot.
I know, this isn’t my usual tech commentary / reporting, but it’s one of my little irks that I have against rude people, especially in public places. I wish I was there to tell her to shut up because she’s disturbing everyone else, and going close up with a camera, but it’s just talk now, I wonder what I would really do should the same situation occur.
